Creatives

Stuart Wood

Music Theatre Maker

@stuiewood

@postcardsfromcleethorpes

Born and raised in Lincolnshire, Stuart Wood is a composer, theatre-maker, and community arts facilitator whose creative journey has taken him from the music industry in London and Los Angeles back to his roots in Cleethorpes.

Now proudly based on the east coast, Stuart founded the Cleethorpes Promenados – a vibrant network of culture-makers and heritage enthusiasts working to reimagine the town as a Seaside Pleasure Garden for the 21st century.

His hit musical Frank’s Closet was revived to critical acclaim in 2024, with performances at London’s Wilton’s Music Hall and the Arts Theatre in the West End. Passionate about co-creation, Stuart’s work centres on the transformative power of shared song and story, valuing the collaborative process as much as the final performance.

Stuart's digital mini-musical Postcards from Cleethorpes, supported by Create North East Lincolnshire, is available to watch here

Samuel Pearson

Creative Director

@samuelcpearson

Samuel is an actor, performer, and puppeteer currently based in North East Lincolnshire, working in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

SO Festival Supported Artist for 2025/26 - Founding member of Acting Lincs - Founding member of Kazbah Theatre - 23/24 Create North East Lincolnshire Development Fund recipient.

In his puppetry and acting work, Samuel predominantly works in devised and new pieces of writing and performance, usually collaborating as part of a team. Samuel has worked extensively with Kazbah Theatre, both as a performer and delivering training workshops to youth groups and college level students. His work with Kazbah has included music videos, live performances and short films.

Samuel is particularly passionate about the study of ‘audiences’ and the impact of the live event. Being from a working class background, he is also interested in how other non-theatre events are important to local communities who would not regularly access the arts.

Chelsea Senior

Events Manager & Finance Director

An adopted Grimbarian, Chelsea moved to Great Grimsby from West Yorkshire as a child and now resides in the paradise that is the Humberston Fitties. She is a certified chartered accountant and ACCA affiliate. She has been described during her external audit days as "an iron fist in a velvet glove".

Chelsea is Founder and Director of Halcyone Finance, "Accounting for People with Purpose". She predominantly works with social enterprise and not-for-profits and provides a range of services including accounting, fundraising support, consulting, audit and independent examinations.

Having spent her 20's attending as many live music events and festivals as possible, she has decided to spend some time out of the audience. Heading behind the scenes, jointly founding Grim and Gleeful with Samuel and Stuart to support them in bringing their creative visions to life, and to throw a few of her own ideas into the ring while she's at it.
